Vojta therapy is a neurophysiological form of therapy that is usually used for babies to positively influence the movement pattern.
Prof. Vojta, a neurologist, developed Vojta therapy.
It is based on the principle of reflex locomotion. That means that stimuli in strictly defined positions can affect movement patterns, which are controlled by the central nervous system. The goal of Vojta therapy is to activate movement patterns that are reflexes since birth. One of the advantages of Vojta is that parts of the already damaged central nervous system can be restored in their function.
Vojta is mostly used for disorders of the central nervous system and disorders of the musculoskeletal system.
