Vojta Therapy

The Vojtatherapy is a neurophysiological form of therapy which is usually used for babies to influence the movement pattern positively.

Prof. Vojta, a neurologist, developed Vojta therapy.

It is based on the principle of reflex locomotion. That means that stimuli in strictly defined positions can affect movement patterns which are controlled by the central nervous system. The goal of Vojta therapy is to activate movement patterns which are reflexes since birth. One of the advantages of Vojta is that also for people with damaged central nervous system, parts can be restored in their function.

Vojta is mostly used for disorders of the central nervous system and disorders of the musculoskeletal system.
