Fibromyalgia

FM is a chronic condition which belongs to the group of rheumatic diseases. It leads to pain in joints and muscles and typical tender points might appear. Additionally patients suffer from fatigue, sleep disorders and many more symptoms.

The cause is unclear. It is discussed that hormonal and genetic factors influence the disease as well as some infections.

Since there are no typical lab markers, Fibromyalgia is mostly diagnosed through ruling out other diseases and finding typical tender points.

Therapy includes physical therapy, pain management and alternative treatment options.
